The Seder

About

The Seder is a user friendly Haggadah for beginners as well as anyone looking to honor Passover and eat before ten at night. Anyone, from the fidgety six-year-old who may never have attended a Seder to the 90-year-old who was a bar mitzvah long ago, will enjoy this short and sweet interpretation of the Exodus from Egypt. Collage illustrations in The Seder will delight your family and friends.  Even inanimate objects take on life. The parsley looks so real you can smell it and the paper-crafted matzah looks good enough to eat.

Testimonials

“Artistic paper collage illustrations combined with an accessible telling of the traditional texts make The Seder a popular Haggadah for families.”

-Stacey Zaleski, Director of Merchandising, The Jewish Museum, NYC
“Concise, contemporary, and perfect for all ages.  The collage illustrations bring life to the text and literally seem to jump off the pages.  A beautifully designed Haggadah for the 21st century.”

Kevin Grenon, The Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco.

About Us

Liz Kaplan has gathered friends and family from all religious backgrounds and of all ages around her dining room table for years to celebrate Passover, adding leaves and additional tables as needed.  Her Seders are joyous and inclusive occasions for which she often creates a new Haggadah, aiming to honor tradition while paring down the service to what is comfortable for her guests.

Laura Stillman Carraro has been using collage to create images for many years. She uses a vast collection of papers ranging from art store supplies to scraps she finds blowing about on the street. You can see more of her artwork at her website lauracarraro.com.
